Inspirational Quote

LDS.org - LDS Gem Archives - October 2009: "The Door to True Happiness

“The gospel of Jesus Christ has the answers to all of our problems. The gospel is not a secret. It is not complicated or hidden. It can unlock the door to true happiness. It is not someone’s theory or proposition. It does not come from man at all. It springs from the pure and everlasting waters of the Creator of the universe, who knows truths we cannot even begin to comprehend. And with that knowledge, He has given us the gospel—a divine gift, the ultimate formula for happiness and success.”
Dieter F. Uchtdorf, “The Way of the Disciple,” Ensign, May 2009, 75"

WANTED

One big serving of LUCK.

Apparently I don't have any. I know everyone always says this but I have proof! One might say that you are in need of luck when your brand new beautiful Ford Explorer is already broken.

I can't believe it. I got to drive it for ONE day, just one! Apparently the rear wheel is coming off or something like that nothing to important.

So if anybody has any luck they are willing to share, I could use all I can get

One word, One syllable, Six letters

C-R-A-F-T-S
Yeah!!! I love fun new crafts. Especially fall ones. (fall decorating is my favorite) Here is a cute idea, either for yourself or a gift.

I got the idea from one of my favorite shows, One Tree Hill. Peyton makes one of these for her baby because she thinks she is going to die, and she wants her baby to remember her. (I know it is totally a soap opera, but it is just so good) I think it would be fun to make one for your kid or just for you to look back at, you could put a little journal of memories or whatever else to remember a certain time in your life.
It was really easy to make, it only took about an hour or so. (any craft takes me way longer than anyone else, I have this weird perfectionist thing going on) I got the box at Roberts. They had a ton of different sizes. I just used spray glue to stick the paper on, but you could also use mod podge (best invention ever!)

I am also way excited about my other project. Becky found this way cute halloween table runner.

We are going to make it. We got a huge deal on the fabric and it is going to be a lot of work but it will totally be worth it. I am so excited.

Hurray for Crafting!!!!

Coolest bag ever!!!!

So I was with the young women in my ward at Wal-Mart (the devil store as we lovingly call it) and I saw the coolest bag I have ever seen in my whole life. I had to have it. I didn't have any money with me so I was going to go back the next day and get it. I told Mike about it and he being the sweetheart he is went and got it for me. It was only $9. How cool is that!

Yes it does have Coldplay on the front. They are one of my all time favorite bands. I was so mad that we didn't go see them in concert when they came recently! Yeah for good deals on fun things!

Live YOUR Beautiful Situation

Lately I have been having kind of a hard time. You know those times in your life where you feel like you are looking at your life from the outside. Like watching a movie. That is how I feel lately. I am just kind of here with no purpose in life. I love that I can pray for guidance and get answers. I was searching for something, anything to help me figure out what I need to be doing at this time in my life. I opened up the Ensign and started to read this article by President Uchtdorf. I came across this quote and loved it. I love the part where it says to not set goals beyond your capacity. I feel like I am continually setting myself up for failure. There are so many things I want to do and never enough time. I also like the part where it tells you to not compare yourself to others. This is another thing I am continually doing. It seems like everyone else is better than I am at things.

In my life I think I need to step back and realize that I am good at many things (they aren't always the things I want to be good at, but that is the way it is). Anyway I absolutely love this quote and put it up on my desk. It is inspiring.

LDS.org - Liahona Article - The Influence of Righteous Women: "May I invite you to rise to the great potential within you. But don’t reach beyond your capacity. Don’t set goals beyond your capacity to achieve. Don’t feel guilty or dwell on thoughts of failure. Don’t compare yourself with others. Do the best you can, and the Lord will provide the rest. Have faith and confidence in Him, and you will see miracles happen in your life and the lives of your loved ones. The virtue of your own life will be a light to those who sit in darkness, because you are a living witness of the fulness of the gospel (see D&C 45:28). Wherever you have been planted on this beautiful but often troubled earth of ours, you can be the one to “succor the weak, lift up the hands which hang down, and strengthen the feeble knees” (D&C 81:5)."

That next day after I found the article a friend in my ward who serves in the Young Women with me posted a saying on her blog/facebook. It was so perfectly worded, I also printed it out and put it up on my desk. (My desk is going to be covered!!!!) It makes me happy!! I intend on "living my beautiful situation" to the fullest.

DEAD :(

Well, my car is dead. I bought it right after I graduated high school in 2003. So it has lasted me a good 6 years. Heaven knows that when I had to replace the transmission in 2005 I didn't think it would last much longer. Yet it lasted a whole 4 years more!! Way to go Rosario! I wanted to pay a tribute to my first (and last) Saturn. Thanks for getting me where I needed to go!!

Fleetwood Mac

This weekend I went with my Dad to Vegas to see Fleetwood Mac in concert. I LOVE them. I totally grew up listening to them. When I was little I found one of my parents tapes of FM and I was instantly hooked. I listened to them for like a year straight.
This was the best concert ever. Those old rock groups sure do know how to put on a show. The played for 2 1/2 house straight!! It was so fun. We left Saturday morning and got back Sunday afternoon. It was a lot of driving but it was totally worth it!! Who knows if they will tour again. They are in their 60s, but they rocked out. My dad and I were laughing he went to their concert 30 years ago!

Here is Lindsey Buckingham (the guitarist) rocking out. They were really good.

Here is Stevie Nicks singing "Gold Dust Woman". She has a great voice, she can sing so low!

MUSIC

One of the biggest enjoyments in my life is music. I enjoy it in all it's forms. It seems like music is the thing that affects me the most. In church it brings the spirit stronger than anthing else. It makes me happy when I am sad. I am grateful for music. At work I have been listening to Pandora radio. It is free!! All you have to do is put in an artist or song and it plays songs with similar sounds. I absolutely love Pandora. The last station I made I typed in Brandi Carlile, it came up with some great artists that I haven't heard before. Music makes everything better!

Cooking, Tired, Busy, Trouble

COOKING

So lately I have been trying to cook new things. I got a cook book from my mom when I got married. It is a collection from the Taste of Home magazine. It is one of those books that tells the how to and gives you ideas for substitutes and measurements, just stuff like that. I really like it because it is all divided up by ingredient. So if I had chicken, all I have to do is look up chicken and POW I have multiple good recipes. Yeah!!! I have decided that I am going to be better at cooking for Mike. Man I don't know how he survived with a wife that only made the same 3 things over and over.

TIRED

I am so tired of my job. I don't know what it is about doing the same thing over and over day after day. I just gets boring. It is sad when you are excited to pick out a new color of post it pad because your other one ran out.

BUSY

It is amazing how training a new puppy makes your life so much busier. Now on top of all the chores, laundry, young womens activities, lessons, etc. I get to take a puppy on walks, play with her, watch her so she doesn't destroy anything. It is crazy how I feel busier. A side note, and I know that no one would believe me if I said this, but I actually like to clean my house. Probably because it is MINE.!! Yeah for your own things.

TROUBLE

I have decided to participate in the red riding hood bike tour to help breast cancer research, etc. It is one of the tours where you can ride as miles as you want from 15 to 100. My friend Tia and I are going to shoot for the 60 something mile one. I have got to start training but the stupid snow is making me not want to go outside and ride my bike. I am way excited to participate in this though. My mom and aunt are also participating. I am excited and really scared that I am going to drop over and die on the side of the road.

Puppies in graduation caps

I am the MiaMaid advisor in our new ward. I absolutely love it. It is so fun to be with the cute girls. I feel like I am in Young Women's with them not their advisor. We have a really small group of girls. We only have 7 total, and we have no laurels at all. So we have combined lessons and activities. It is so fun to just goof off and have fun with them.
Alice has been so hard to house train. She still has accidents in the house at least once a day. Man I could strangle her if she wasn't so darn cute! Next Monday is the last day of her puppy class. She has done really well with most of it. I know it is cheesy but I am excited because we are supposed to bring a camera. They are going to take a picture of them in a little graduation cap. I think it is going to be so cute.

Birthday

Well I have found that I am terrible at keeping up with this blogging thing! I always forget to write something, or run out of time or whatever. Mike thinks I am silly for even having a blog. I think it is fun though! I am going to try harder to keep up on it! Well let's see, what has happened since I last wrote. . . My birthday was a week ago. I had the best one ever! Mike spoiled me rotten! Since my birthday was on a monday we had to skip our puppy class. Mike planned a great evening! First we went to FastKart. It was so fun because we were the only ones there so we just got to race eachother. Mike kicked my trash though! Then we went to Cafe Rio and went home and played games. Mike got me the bed frame that I have been wanting. We don't have the right size mattress yet, but I love my new bed. The friday before my birthday Mike went and got me a bunch of cake decorating stuff and we came home and made a cake and decorated it. It was so much fun to do that together. I love hanging out with him. He is the coolest!

Alice is doing okay. She is way smart. The only problem is she is taking a while to get house trained. She still has accidents every other day or so. She picks up on tricks really fast though. So far we have taught her to sit, lay down, shake, and give you a high five. She is so cute!! I love her.

Puppies!!!

For Christmas Mike bought me a puppy. She is so so so cute! He got me a West Hightland Terrier or a Westie. She is 11 weeks old and is so full of energy. She hardly ever barks unless her chew toy makes her mad. The only problem is house training her in the freezing cold. It is so fun getting up 2-3 times a night and taking her out. Luckily she is getting the idea. We have also cured her of her shoe addiction and working on the sock addiction. She loves to kiss you all the time. (a little too much sometimes) She gets so excited when you come home that she pees all over the floor. I have to say no one has ever been so excited to see me that they peed on the floor! Tonight we are taking her to puppy training at the PetSmart by our house. Hopefully she will be good with the other dogs and learn a lot. Anyway she is so cute and we love her! :D
Here she is with her pheasant. She loves this toy.
Mike got her the cutest little sweater, she looks so cute in it and she doesn't seem to mind too much when we put it on her to go outside.
