Christmas

This year as usual I sucked at taking pictures.  I forgot my camera for the annual Harwood Christmas Eve party, so sorry no pictures from there!  We had a lot of fun though.  We had a blast with everyone, we played games, had wonderful food.  Brad gave a great spiritual thought that meant a lot to me.  I really love Mike's family and I am so blest to have great in-laws.  The only downfall about the holiday season was I got sick the Wednesday before Christmas and stayed sick for two weeks.  I still have a cough that won't go away!!

The next morning we got up around 9 am to open presents and get ready to go to my parents house.  Earlier that morning Mike got up at 6 am to let Alice out and saw everyone's lights on already.  I guess that is one good thing about not having kids we didn't have to get up early on Christmas!  We had a smaller Christmas, at least that is what I thought.  Mike went all out and made some awesome DVD cabinets.  He is so good at everything he does!  Seriously these cabinets are amazing!  Later that night we got them put up in the bedroom for now and loaded them.  I don't know whether to be proud or embarrassed by how many DVDs we have!

We also got Alice a present.  It is so cute because she actually opens it.  She won't play with the toy until all of the wrapping paper is off.  (I know we are lame!)

After Mike and I opened presents we went to church with my parents at 11:00.  The sound system went out at their church and Peter Breinholt brought his sounds system for church, he is in my parents stake.  The whole meeting was a big concert with choirs singing, Peter Breinholt performing, intrumental performances.  It was amazing, it was fun to just sit back and enjoy the spirit and the joy of music!

After we got back from church we opened presents with my parents.  Poor Hayden had to wait that long to open any of his presents!  I think overall everyone enjoyed their presents.  It was fun to watch Hayden get excited about the present we got for him.  He is such a stud!

Later that night Aaron called.  It was so fun to get to talk to him.  I am so proud of him for serving a mission.  He is awesome and such a good example of following God and doing what you are supposed to.

Overall it was a great day (other than being sick!)  I love both of my families and my amazing husband.

  2. Mike is quite talented! We don't need redbox - we're friends with the Harwoods! We gave Charlie some presents too, but he's not as smart as Alice to be able to open them. That is so cute. Hope your cough goes away soon.
